Morgan’s 5 Step Publishing Plan provides you with the opportunity to publish your novel in both print and ebook format, particularly if you are unsure how best to handle editing your manuscript, formatting and publication for print and ebook via Amazon’s KDP system, cover design, marketing and publicity for your book.

As the former Operations Manager for publishing start-up Author Enterprises, Morgan regularly proof-read and published clients’ books, as well as designing mock-up covers for their novels using Adobe InDesign based on both her MA dissertation findings (see here) and her experience working within some of the top publishing houses in the world, to ensure the best chance of success for budding authors’ debut/latest book. Additionally, during the two and a half years she spent within the academic marketing department of Bloomsbury Publishing, Morgan would frequently proofread editorial propositions, website pages, book excerpts as well as extract and process reviews from academic and prestigious journals and contact various well-known publications, from The Guardian to The Telegraph, to request reviews (*note: this does not guarantee high-end publication reviews for your novel, as this requires the route of traditional publishing). Industry marketing knowledge is included in her author marketing pack which is provided for authors as part of this package deal, including how best to approach bloggers or online journals/newsletters/magazines, which platforms to use to offer promotional deals for your novel, how to utilise social media for self promotion and more.

The steps outlined in greater detail:

1. Morgan will proof-read your manuscript and additionally provide overall editorial feedback for the book, if this is required. You will have four weeks to send over the final revised manuscript, if amendments are made as a result. Morgan will also format your manuscript both for epub and print publication, adhering to Amazon KDP’s measurements for hard copies. She will handle technical details such as hyperlinks, margin sizes, table of contents etcetera.

2. Morgan will create your Amazon KDP account, and explain how to set up your tax return form and handle crucial details such as billing address info.

3. Morgan will design your novel cover using Adobe InDesign for both ebook and print, and will write your blurb (unless you have one you’d prefer to use) as well as your cover tagline. She will send you the mock-up cover so you can request final revisions, after which you will receive the finished version.

4. Morgan will publish your book via KDP in both print and ebook format.
