The Bell Books are a trilogy that Morgan has self-published under her pseudonym, Elizabeth D. Bell.
The Fame Game is a psychological thriller and a modern retelling of All About Eve, adapted to reflect our current era where social media determines the narrative and dictates a public figure’s reputation.
Cole Stevens is an up-and-coming actor who notices a teenage boy continuously showing up outside the theatre where he performs each night. This teenager claims to be Cole’s number one fan. At first, he seems harmless, but soon Cole realises the boy is stalking him. Eventually, he decides to take pity and try to help his young fan. What he doesn’t expect, however, is for this boy to fabricate a story which soon turns into a nationwide scandal, forcing Cole to confront his worst fear: public humiliation.
This book explores difficult questions surrounding cancel culture, how figures of authority can abuse their position of power, the dangers of the youth’s obsession with fame and celebrity culture, and what truly matters and provides us with meaning in order to live a fulfilling and purposeful life.
